Rev. Dr. Michael Hoy
Decatur IL
Michael Hoy is Pastor at First Lutheran Church (ELCA), Decatur, Illinois. Prior to joining us here, he was Pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Louis, and Dean for the Lutheran School of Theology. He was ordained in 1982, and has been a Pastor for over 30 years, half of those years in pastorates, the other half in academic settings, (taught at Capital University, Valparaiso University, LSTC, Eden Theological Seminary).
Pastor Hoy holds a Ph. D, in Theology and Ethics from Lutheran School of Theology, (dissertation published under title, The Faith that Works), and more recently has been the editor of two books for Robert W. Bertram, A Time for Confessing and The Divorce of Sex and Marriage: Sain Sex. Pastor Hoy has numerous published articles in theological journals, some of which may be available on-line.
Pastor Hoy is deeply committed to helping the poor and the oppressed locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. Pastor Hoy is regarded as a community leader in Decatur for these efforts.
Pastor Hoy is married to Karen, and together they have four children and four grandchildren.

Milton Scott holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Millikin University and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Illinois State University. He began working at First Lutheran in 1967. Milt is the founder of the FLC Bell Choir and creator of the Informal Worship Service where he is vocal leader and keyboardist. He conducts the Adult Choir and oversees the music ministry and all worship events.

Rick Strine
Organist
Rick moved to Decatur in 1989 from
Indiana. He is a graduate of Purdue University. He joined First Lutheran Church in 1989 and began singing with the choir and shortly thereafter began working with the children's
choir. He has sung
with the Greater Decatur Chorale for 20+ years and with OPUS 24 for nearly 10 years. Before becoming the organist at FLC he was the organist at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church for 10 years and pianist at South Shores United Methodist church for 20 years. He also currently directs the handbell choir at FLC. He plays
the piano at Von Maur department store in Forsyth and teachs Spanish at St. Teresa High School.
