Pastor Rita Augsburger 

Pastor Rita was born and raised in St. Paul MN.  She received a B.S. degree in Physical Education and Coaching from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, MN.  She received her M. Div. from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, IA.
Prior to coming to First Lutheran, Decatur in January 2017, she served as the pastor at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake, MN.  Prior to ordination, her work experience included serving as a teacher; church and hospital work; and being a Girl Scout Professional.


All are invited to find a home at First Lutheran, Decatur.  Come experience God’s unlimited GRACE in a most welcoming place.

 

 

Pastor Emeritus

Pastor Al, as he is known is a member of First Lutheran.  Pastor Al is in his 61st year as an ordained Pastor. As a member he participates like other members in church worship and activities. He is also active in the community, a RSVP member, volunteers at DMH and St. Mary, and is a Lt. Col in the Civil   Air Patrol (civilian branch of the U.S. Air-force) He may be reached at the church or his home phone is 429-1339. On a personal note, Pastor Al tells people he has a daily night time prayer:" Lord, if you have something for me to do tomorrow, wake me up and give me the wisdom and ability to do it. If not, then I am ready to go home." Since God continues to wake me up, I find every day an adventure, searching for what it is that God has planned for me.  Life is full and rich."

Milt Scott

Milton Scott holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Millikin University and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Illinois State University. He began working at First Lutheran in 1967. Milt is the founder of the FLC Bell Choir and creator of the Informal Worship Service where he is vocal leader and keyboardist. He conducts the Adult Choir and oversees the music ministry and all worship events.

Rick Strine

Organist

Rick moved to Decatur in 1989 from Indiana.  He is a graduate of Purdue University. He joined First Lutheran Church in 1989 and began singing with the choir and shortly thereafter began working with the children's choir.  He has sung
with the Greater Decatur Chorale for 20+ years and with OPUS 24 for nearly 10 years.  Before becoming the organist at FLC he was the organist at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church for 10 years and pianist at South Shores United Methodist church for 20 years. He also currently directs the handbell choir at FLC. He plays the piano at Von Maur department store in Forsyth and teachs Spanish at St. Teresa High School.
